EMA Participates in 4’s Multicultural Advertising Intern Program

Eric Mower + Associates has hired David Armas as a creative intern through a partnership with the 4A’s Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP).

Armas recently graduated from the University of Florida, where he studied advertising with a concentration in Business Administration, Latin American studies and Portuguese. At EMA Atlanta, he supports the creative team with art direction.

The 4A's, the leading trade association for the advertising and marketing industry, kicked off its 40th summer of MAIP. Each year, the program each year places more than 100 multicultural students in 10-week summer internships at 4A’s member agencies. Students gain practical work experience, establish key contacts and become better prepared to land full-time jobs in the industry.

MAIP candidates are sourced from more than 500 colleges and portfolios nationwide. Watch Armas’ video application here.

“MAIP is great because it enables students to gain valuable experience and agencies to infuse more diversity talent into the workplace,” said Michael Slade, a partner and HR director at EMA. “We work hard to maintain a diverse working environment and value programs like MAIP that help us do that.”

EMA’s Council on Diversity and Inclusion assesses the many aspects of diversity at EMA, and recommends actions to improve workforce diversity. The mission is to help EMA create a workplace environment that encourages and supports our differences. The council recommends and promotes policies, procedures and programs, like MAIP, to help both the company and its employees recruit for, value and respect diversity.
