The Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany has hired Eric Mower and Associates to develop and deliver a marketing communications strategy and comprehensive branding campaign for Catholic school education in the diocese.
EMA’s efforts will help support “Covenant to Educate,” the diocese’s vision for the future of its 25 schools. The diocese educates nearly 6,000 students from pre-kindergarten through high school, a number that has been gradually declining during the past five years. “Covenant to Educate” is designed to encourage growth in enrollment and enhance the ongoing sustainability of Catholic education in the diocese.
“Despite our reputation for being academically strong, enrollment in Catholic schools continues to decline. We need to fix that. We selected EMA as our marketing firm because they understand our challenges and proposed a strong marketing approach that will help us succeed,” said Sr. Jane Herb, IHM, Ph.D., Superintendent of Schools at the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany.
“The diocesan schools need a clear identity that embodies their founding core principles, even as individual parochial schools retain their local identities,” said Chris Steenstra, senior partner at EMA. “This is a critical, research-intensive assignment, and we look forward to helping the diocese revitalize its academic enterprise.”
