Real Patients and Physicians Highlighted in New Caromont Health Advertising Campaign Produced byEMA

CaroMont Health, a nationally recognized hospital for quality located in Gastonia, N.C., recently launched a new television and print advertising campaign. The ads, produced by CaroMont Health’s advertising agency Eric Mower and Associates (EMA), focus on the personal experiences as told by real patients and doctors.

“These new ads show how much the hospital impacts the lives of our patients and emphasizes the great care that our doctors give,” said Jean Waters, director of Marketing and Public Relations at CaroMont Health. “We are extremely proud of our doctors and it is great to share the patients’ remarkable stories.”

The ads feature CaroMont Health’s various practice groups, including Orthopedics, the Birthplace, Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Oncology and Neonatology. Some of the patients featured in the ads include:

  • Dillard Phillips, a 64-year-old patient at the CaroMont Heart Center. When told by his doctors that he needed a defibrillator to regulate his heart beat, Phillips was able to receive the life-saving treatment he needed, close to home. Ultimately, the defibrillator saved his life when his heart began to race unexpectedly while he was driving. The CaroMont Heart Center provides a full range of life-saving cardiac care including open heart and bypass surgery, angioplasty, pacemaker implantation, diagnostic imaging, on-going education and monitoring.
  • Paul Creasman, a volunteer firefighter who suffered neck and back pain following a car accident two years ago. He researched area hospitals and found that CaroMont Health’s expansive surgical suite offers the latest advancements such as stereotactic technology, a procedure using computer simulation, microscopic surgery and X-ray images for pinpoint accuracy. He underwent a minimally invasive procedure and is now pain free.
  • Jon Robinson, a sports announcer with a professional team who was stunned when the cyst in his neck was diagnosed as throat cancer. He was treated at CaroMont Health’s Cancer Center, which provides advanced 3-D radiation treatment planning and chemotherapy. After successful treatment, he has been able to return to his job.
  • “We thought the most compelling way to tell the story of the hospital was through the stories of the patients,” said Seth Werner, executive creative director at EMA. “The more you get to know these people and see how the folks at Gaston Memorial Hospital helped them, the more impressed you are with the facility.”

The new ad campaign can be seen in Gaston, Cleveland and Mecklenburg counties, N.C., as well as York County, S.C.
