Junior Achievement of CNY Recognizes EMAers for Volunteer Efforts

Junior Achievement of Central New York (JA) recently recognized two employees at marketing communications firm Eric Mower and Associates (EMA) for their volunteer efforts.

The nonprofit organization recognized EMA PR Account Executive Danielle Gerhart as “Board Member of the Year” for her role as co-chair of JA’s new event Juniorpalooza: The Ultimate High School Battle of the Bands. Gerhart has been a JA of CNY board member since 2005. EMA Partner/Creative Director Tom Merrick was recognized as “Volunteer of the Year” for his leadership role in helping organize the event. The awards were given at JA of CNY’s annual Futures Unlimited Celebration.

“EMA helped bring Juniorpalooza to JA of CNY as a great fund- and awareness-raiser for us,” said JA of CNY President Kathy Harter. “We appreciate all of the time, talent, and support that EMA has generously given to JA throughout the years.”

Juniorpalooza, a head-to-head competition of Central New York’s most talented high school garage bands, was held in January at The Palace Theatre as a way to raise money and awareness for JA of CNY, and to celebrate the musical talent of local teens.
