EMA’s Pamela Sawchuk Brown Named Capital Region’s “Outstanding Communicator”

The Public Relations Society of America will honor Pamela Sawchuk Brown, partner at Eric Mower and Associates (EMA) and the founder of Sawchuk Brown Associates, as “Outstanding Communicator” at the Capital Region Chapter’s first annual Empire Awards on Nov. 13.

“Pam is respected at the highest levels of government and business as the kind of leader whose professionalism and commitment make lasting impacts on her community,” said Eric Mower, chairman and chief executive officer of EMA. “Pam’s deep experience in public relations, dedication to her clients, and commitment to the Capital Region are exceptional. We are very proud she is a part of EMA.”

Ms. Sawchuk Brown founded Sawchuk Brown Associates (SBA) as a one-woman enterprise in 1979, and it grew to become the Capital Region’s foremost public relations firm, focusing on public relations, public affairs and strategic marketing. EMA and SBA combined in August, creating the region’s largest public relations and public affairs practice.

The Empire Awards recognize programs, projects, and professionals for outstanding achievement in the practice and support of the public relations profession in the Capital Region and beyond.

Ms. Sawchuk Brown, a graduate of the University at Albany, has served on the board of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce since 1986 and was its chair in 2003. She also serves on the Albany District Board of KeyBank NA and the boards of the Howard & Bush Foundation and the Center for Economic Growth, as well as the advisory board of the Union Graduate College and the President’s Council of the Albany College of Pharmacy and the Sage Colleges. In 1995, she was named “Woman of Excellence” by the Albany-Colonie Chamber. And in 2000, she was honored as one of the “100 Women of Excellence” in the Capital Region in the 20th Century.
