David M. Grome, business strategist at Eric Mower + Associates, was chosen to serve on the 2013 Democrat and Chronicle Board of Contributors. Through this role, Grome serves as an advisor to the Editorial Board and provides readers of the daily newspaper with regular commentary on a wide range of community issues.
The Democrat and Chronicle encourages its Board of Contributors to freely share their opinions about current events and local issues on the Contributors' blog. Board contributors also have the opportunity to submit editorial articles for the weekend “Speaking Out” section of the newspaper, which is featured across digital, mobile and print editions. Grome also invites readers to engage with the newspaper during Editorial Board meetings by sharing live commentary from Twitter (@davidmgrome).
In his first blog entry, Grome reflected on the Democrat and Chronicle’s recent Editorial Board meeting with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and offered his recommendations on how the organization should position itself for a successful future.
“As a member of the Board of Contributors, I am focused on increasing the awareness of ideas that will help move our community forward,” said Grome. “I’m grateful for the skills and experience from my work at Eric Mower + Associates, which provide me with the tools to create dynamic conversations with the public.”
Grome joined EMA’s Public Relations + Public Affairs practice in 2007. In that role, he has developed and implemented public relations programs for a variety of business-to-business clients. Grome is also a member of EMA Insight—the agency’s integrated research, strategy, planning and analytics group—specializing in the analysis of market data and related intelligence to provide clients with strategic insights and communication recommendations in support of their business goals and objectives.
Grome is a volunteer with the Diversity Committee for the Rochester Chapter of Public Relations Society of America and serves as a board member for the Small Business Council of Rochester, an affiliate of the Rochester Business Alliance.
Grome is a graduate of Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
