EMA Wins “Best of Show” and Seven Other Awards from the Business Marketing Association of NYC

Eric Mower and Associates won Best of Show, plus two first-place awards, from the Business Marketing Association of New York City. The 2011 Advertising Creative Excellence (ACE) Awards, presented last night in New York, recognize the year's best business-to-business creative campaigns from around the world.

A sweeping campaign created by EMA for Domtar, a global leader in paper manufacturing, took home the Best of Show award. EMA also won first place for the Domtar campaign in a competition among integrated marketing campaigns with a budget of more than $1 million. The multimedia “Paper Because” campaign was designed to demonstrate that paper is sustainable, personal and purposeful. Print ads appeared in major U.S. and Canadian media outlets. Online banner ads and a series of short videos appeared in a variety of online media. The campaign included an aggressive public relations component.

EMA also won first place for a lead nurturing campaign created for PGi, a global virtual meeting company. In 2009, a business model shift aiming to provide PGi’s technology to smaller companies challenged PGi to augment direct sales with a marketing-driven structure to drive SMB market penetration. PGi needed to efficiently scale processes to serve SMB, provide incremental sales revenue and reduce the overall cost of acquisition. EMA used personas provided by PGi to develop tailored content and offers to speak one-on-one to these audiences.

EMA also won ACE Awards in the following competitions:

  • Integrated Marketing Campaign, $250,000-$1 million budget: GE Energy Filtration Technologies “Promises Kept” campaign, 3rd place
  • Website/Microsite: KI NeoCon microsite, 3rd place
  • Video: Domtar "Paper Because" campaign, Runner up
  • Print Advertising Campaign, more than $250,000 budget: Domtar “Paper Because” campaign, Runner up
  • Best Concepts Killed by Client: Rubbermaid, Department of Water Conservation, Runner up

The ACE Awards strive to foster excellence in b-to-b communications and recognize the agencies and clients who have successfully elevated brands. The New York Times has hailed as the Ace Awards as “one of the industry’s best creative awards.”
