EMA Recognized at 2011 PRism Awards for Outstanding Client Work

Eric Mower and Associates, in conjunction with its clients North American Breweries and Eastman Kodak Company, has received recognition at the 2011 “Totally Tweet-able” PRism Awards, presented by the Public Relations Association of America (PRSA), Rochester Chapter. At the ceremony on June 9 in Rochester, EMA took home a Distinguished PRism Award and two Awards of Excellence.

EMA worked with NAB to develop and execute the Dundee Ales & Lagers “Virtual Tastings,” an online, interactive program to reach beer bloggers that earned the Distinguished PRism “Blogger Relations” Award. The campaign included two Virtual Tasting events with Dundee Ales & Lagers’ lead brewer, Jim McDermott. Participants were guided by McDermott through the tasting in real-time via webcam. The tastings exposed bloggers to Dundee’s recently released seasonal brews, answered questions regarding the beers, and provided “behind the scenes” information to the craft beer community.

“With EMA’s help and expertise, we were able to develop an innovative campaign that placed us at the cutting-edge of tasting technology and expressed our commitment to the craft beer community,” said Janine Schoos, brand manager, Dundee Ales & Lagers. “The craft beer community and craft beer bloggers are very active online, and it was important for us to create a communications platform that would reach them effectively.”

As a result of the campaign, Dundee’s online beer ratings improved and EMA helped the client earn feature coverage in national trade magazines. After the event, NAB’s Twitter feed increased to more than 1,700 followers.

EMA also received accolades for its public relations work for Eastman Kodak Company. Kodak’s One magazine was the recipient of an Award of Excellence. One magazine features case studies, articles, and success stories based around the challenges printers face and the strategies they are using to help strengthen and grow their businesses. Also, the publicity activities surrounding the launch of the Kodak Prosper 1000 press, titled “Kodak Propser 1000 Press Drives Innovation in Digital Printing,” received an Award of Excellence in the Business-to-Business campaign category.

The PRSA Rochester PRism Awards recognize public relations campaigns that incorporate complete research, planning, execution, and evaluation. In order to be considered for a PRism Award, each entry must achieve the highest level of performance in its category. Distinguished PRism Awards are given to the winning entry in each category while other outstanding public relations work is recognized with Awards of Excellence.
