Eric Mower and Associates, one of the top U.S. independent marketing communications agencies, has promoted Stephen Bell to partner.
Bell joined EMA in 2006. As the director of EMA’s Public Affairs Group in Western New York, he counsels clients on policy, media relations, crisis management, community and regulatory matters, and public relations. He will continue to provide counsel to an impressive roster of clients and to help build the agency's crisis communication presence across all of its offices.
Prior to joining EMA, Bell had a 30-year journalism career, serving in numerous editor roles at The Buffalo News, as an editor and correspondent with The Associated Press, and as a journalist at the Stamford Advocate (Conn.). A graduate and past director of Leadership Buffalo, Bell is the first vice chair of the Buffalo Urban League, director of the Erie County Medical Center Foundation, director of the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County, and board member of the Empire State Games.
Bell earned his master’s from University at Albany and bachelor’s from Dartmouth College. He lives in Snyder, N.Y., with his wife, Liz, and their four children.
