Pairing Verizon Wireless’ Hopeline campaign with the Buffalo Bills proved to be a winning connection. Coordinated by EMA, the partnership became a national template for campaigns to help victims of domestic violence.

Case Study Details

Hopeline collects and recycles old wireless phones to benefit survivors of domestic violence. EMA directed a new partnership with the Buffalo Bills timed to coincide with Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October). EMA coordinated in-store, media and game-day tactics, including a special single-game collection in which one out of every seven Bills fans donated a used wireless phone. Due to the success of the Bills program, EMA’s plan was used as a template for Verizon Wireless HopeLine events at National Football League and Major League Baseball stadiums nationwide.
